Our goal is to look carefully at the big picture, then work toward making the big picture ever smaller, until you are dealing with issues that can be resolved more easily. Most people who come to us with pain issues find that they no longer “hurt all over” after several treatments of physical therapy. Their issues become smaller and more localized.
From that point, it becomes easier to eliminate the pain and related physical issues.

PRIMAL REFLEX RELEASE TECHNIQUE (PRRT)
PRRT, developed by California physical therapist John Iams, is a new gentle, non-invasive technique being used with great success.
- How does PRRT work?
In much the same way physicians test reflexes to see if the nerves are carrying messages to the body, PRRT uses light tapping to pinpoint and treat the source of pain. The treatment is gentle and doesn't hurt, usually producing more rapid results.
- What kinds of problems can PRRT help?
PRRT has helped people with shoulder impingement, low back pain, osteoarthritis pain, trigger points, fibromyalgia, headaches, migraines, myofascial pain, overuse syndromes, spasms, repetitive strain injuries, pulled, torn or tight muscles, sciatica, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, and tunnel syndromes, to name just a few.
MICROCURRENT POINT STIMULATION (MPS) (FORMERLY ETPS)
MPS is a hybrid treatment that combines the principles of acupuncture and neurology with electrical stimulation. MPS applies concentrated DC micro stimulation to produce an 'acupuncture' response that 'releases' muscle tissue that had been impinging nerves and causing pain. In fact, the MPS procedure is nearly identical to acupuncture, with one exception: no needles!
Yes, MPS is non-invasive. In addition, MPS, because it is electrical stimulation - an accepted physical therapy treatment - is typically covered by insurance. Reimbursement for traditional acupuncture, on the other hand, may be limited.

Myofascial Release is a term often used to describe soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle pain and dysfunction. At FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers, we refer to treatment of trigger points with this same term, Myofascial Release.
PILATES REFORMER (MEDICAL PILATES)
'Reformer' exercise is designed to develop controlled movement that allows the therapist and patient to focus on the quality of movement and movement patterns, while emphasizing the concepts of core strength, breathing, neutral spine, and centering. Use of the Reformer during exercise allows the physical therapist to easily modify/adjust for the patient's fitness ability or physical dysfunction, by fine-tuning the use of springs and adjusting body position.
